Newsweek publizierte eine Liste der 500 grünsten Unternehmen einmal des Landes und andererseits der Welt. Unter den zehn grünsten Firmen aus den 500 größten Unternehmen der USA befinden sich unglaubliche acht IT-Unternehmen: Dell, HP und IBM auf den Plätzen 1 bis 3, weiterhin Intel, Sprint/Nextel, Adobe, Applied Materials (Hersteller von Maschinen zur Chipproduktion) und Yahoo.
Auf der weltweiten Top-10-Liste sieht es nicht viel anders aus: Auf Platz 1 steht hier IBM, gefolgt von HP, auf Platz 4 Sony, auf Platz 7 die Deutsche Telecom, dann Panasonic und auf Platz 10 Toshiba.
