Heute möchte ich einmal eine französische Green-IT-Dachorganisation vorstellen, die vielleicht als Vorbild für eine ähnliche Organisation auf deutschem Boden dienen könnte. Die Franzosen hätten jedenfalls großes Interesse an Kontakten zu Parallelorganisationen in anderen Ländern, so es sie gibt.
Es hatndelt sich um die Green-IT-Allianz (AGIT). Die Allianz wurde in Frankreich im Februar 2011 von drei auf Green-IT spezialisierten Firmen (Consulting, Energieeffizienz in Datenzentren, Kohlenstoffbilanzierung) gegründet und hat heute sechsunddreißig Mitglieder. Finanziert wird die Organisation ausschließlich durch Mitgliedsbeiträge, die proportional zur Größe der Unternehmen sind. Es ist geplant, EU-Gelder und andere öffentliche Finanzunterstützung einzuwerben. AGIT will Green-IT-Firmen zusammenbringen, eine Debatte über die Rolle der IT bei der nachhaltigen Entwicklung anstoßen, das Bewusstsein für das Thema weiterentwickeln und den Aufbau von fachlichen Fähigkeiten in den Firmen fördern. Außerdem will man gegen Greenwashing vorgehen und neue Green-IT-Produkte und -Praktiken entwickeln.
Summary:A French Green IT Organisation, Green-IT-Allianz (AGIT), is looking for similar organizations in other countries. It is a French association that was created in February 2011. Its founding members were three companies specialised in Green IT: GreenIT.fr (consulting, Green IT audits and software ecodesign), Greenvision.fr (consulting, energy efficiency in data centres), and Zento.fr (carbon accounting software). The AGIT has been up to steam since September 2011, after recruiting more than thirty members. The AGIT has 36 members (October 2012): 34 organisations and 2 individual members. Among organisations, you will find data centre experts, such as APC (Schneider-Electric.com) and Interxion.com, as well as consultancies such as GreenIT.fr and Blueight.com, energy management software publishers such as Avob.com and JouleX.net, law firms such as GastMenguyAvocats.com, recycling management companies such as Ecologic-France.com, etc. The AGIT is entirely funded by the contributions of its members. The contribution of each member is proportional to its size. Thanks to this funding mechanism, the AGIT is entirely independent. In the near future, the AGIT intends to apply to public funding instruments at the French- or European-level.The AGIT mission is to federate the players of the Green IT field, in order to contribute to the public debate on the role of information technology in sustainable development, and promote skill building in companies. AGIT wants to raise awareness about Green IT, fight greenwashing and to develop new and breakthrough Green-IT-products and -practises.
